Whitney Houston was one of the most famous and beloved singers in popular music history, an unstoppable dynamo with a powerful mezzo-soprano voice. Houston’s powerhouse cover of Dolly Parton’s “I Will Always Love You” for the movie The Bodyguard, in which she starred in and her emotional rendition of “The Star Spangled Banner” at Super Bowl XXV are two of the 20th century’s most enduring musical works. Houston’s second album, the eponymous Whitney, was released in 1987, and was the first album by a woman to make its Billboard Top 200 debut at number one. Tragically, Houston passed away in 2012 at the age of 48.

Offered here is an extremely rare Whitney Houston collectible - a personally owned Life Application Study Bible. This bible is bound with tan leather, and features Houston’s handwriting in multiple places. On the “Marriage” page, Houston wrote about her marriage to Bobby Brown, noting the date they married, their pastor, the maid of honor, and best man for their ceremony. Houston has signed this page in black pen. On the opposite page, Houston noted the birth of her daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, her birthdate, “3/4/93”, and her place of birth, “New Jersey”. On the following page, Houston notes the death of her father, “Mr. John Houston”, and the date of his death, “Feb 2, 2003”. This bible is a stunning artifact from the life of one of the greatest and best-selling musical artists in history. It is accompanied by a LOA from JSA (Z83588) and a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (A74543). Additionally, a Letter of Provenance from Houston’s former landlord is included.
