A product of the Jersey Shore, Doc Cramer was an outfielder on Connie Mack’s legendary 1929-1931 Philadelphia A’s dynasty. When Mack broke up the team, he sent the hard-hitting Cramer to the Red Sox where he mentored a brash young kid named Ted Williams, followed by stints with the Senators and Tigers. Doc retired in 1948 holding a lifetime batting average of .296. Cramer later mentored another future Hall of Famer, Nellie Fox, when he was the hitting coach of the White Sox in the 1950’s.

This Hillerich & Bradsby Pro Model bat shows heavy game use and was used by Cramer between the 1939 and 1943 seasons. There are many ball marks and cleat imprints on the barrel. The handle has the remains of a heavy coat of pine tar and the handle has some wood missing along with some pitting to the surface. A real pre-war gamer if there ever was one! This bat comes with an LOA from PSA/DNA (1B13693) for the game use. Also included in this lot are four 1989 Pacific Trading Cards #181 Roger "Doc" Cramer baseball cards that all have been individually signed by Doc Cramer himself in blue marker. These cards have been pre-certified by Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication.
