Graded 92 NM/MT+ 8.5 by SGC, the lone specimen at its tier. Hall of Famer, in his Rookie Card appearance. Among more than forty copies recorded in SGC’s census reporting, just one example has been placed at a higher level. The delicate masterpieces from this vintage issue are seldom seen in top condition. Long assumed to have had their origins as the Imperial Tobacco Company's Canadian version of baseball's T206, the splendid collectibles known as "C55" convey an incomparable sense of the early game. The offered specimen, depicting hockey pioneer Georges Vezina, is an especially creditable representative of its fragile type. Its bright colors are well-preserved and nicely defined, and the corners betray almost no hint of circulation. The cardback print, placed against an expanse of clear white, is bold and unimpaired. This is the revered, glorious issue's "key" card, in finely detailed Near Mint to Mint-plus condition.
