This offered Honus Wagner Hillerich & Bradsby post career bat derives directly from the family of Boston Red Sox Hall of Famer Bobby Doerr. Doerr was appreciative of the history of baseball’s greatest players and this 1922-23 Honus Wagner bat displays excellent use and is un-cracked. There is slight checking or grain swelling from repeated ball contact on the back barrel and the labeling period of this bat can identified by the center brand. The barrel itself has ball marks and the handle has been taped approximately eight inches in a spiral patter. It also appears that about 2 ½ inches of the tape has been removed. A unique aspect of the bat is the letter “M” that has been carved into the front barrel. A truly remarkable piece of baseball history and comes directly from one of the Red Sox’s best players. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B13696) for the use and a LOA from the family of Bobby Doerr.
