Graded PR 1 by PSA, one of just four examples validated by that company. (Competing grading service SGC has holdered only one specimen.) A dual Hall of Famer portrayal. This desirable piece was issued by the Novelty Cutlery Co. of Canton, Ohio; its appearance is similar to that of the 1910 PC796 Sepia Postcard issue, but the prized version offered here is far more scarce. (Our research reveals that the last sale of a PC805 Cobb/Wagner in a major auction took place in 2008, while a total of eight of the PC796 Sepia Cobb/Wagner examples have changed hands publicly since that time.) In this famous pose, Ty Cobb and Honus Wagner are seen shaking hands during the 1909 World Series. These two men were, without a doubt, the most dominant hitters of their time: Wagner led the NL in batting eight times, and Cobb topped his league in a record 12 seasons. This collectible exhibits generalized wear and scattered creasing that largely spare the integrity of the card's mesmerizing illustration. Much-loved – but still attractive – Poor condition.
