From the moment Joe DiMaggio played his first game for the San Francisco Seals in 1932, the baseball world knew they had a new savior on their hands. DiMaggio hit .398 for the Seals as a 20-year old, and by the next opening day he had his grasp firmly on the New York Yankees number “5” uniform. DiMaggio, despite time missed for military service and numerous chronic injuries, became one of the greatest ballplayers of all-time in only 13 Major League seasons. A nine-time World Series champion and a 13-time All-Star, DiMaggio more than earned his epithet of “Greatest Living Ballplayer”. DiMaggio finished his career with 361 home runs (against only 369 strikeouts), three American League MVP trophies, and a sensational .325 batting average.

Offered here is a hardcover copy of the book “Baseball For Everyone” signed by Joe DiMaggio. DiMaggio wrote this book, although he received the assistance of “an advisory board of experts including Frankie Drisch, Bill Dickey, Carl Hubbell, [and] Art Fletcher” according to the copy written on the inside dust jacket. Red Barber also contributed a chapter, titled “How To Score”, in this instructional tome. DiMaggio has signed the cover page of this book in blue pen. He added the personalization “To Gareth L. Pawlowski / With Best Wishes” above his signature. This book is accompanied by a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (A76073).
