John Wooden has signed this hardcover copy of his book Wooden: A Lifetime of Observations and Reflections On and Off the Court. Wooden, a star basketball player at Purdue in the 1930’s and later the head coach of the greatest college basketball dynasty in the history of the sport at UCLA, has penned a lovely inscription to the Hall of Fame centerfielder Joe DiMaggio in this book. Wooden writes “To Joe DiMaggio – for whom I have the greatest respect for his ball playing and, more importantly, as a man. Your brilliant and graceful play will only equal to your grace as a man”. Wooden has written this inscription and signed the book in black marker. This book comes with a LOA from the DiMaggio family, as well as a COA from Beckett Authentication Services (F06111).
