Hall of Fame center Kareem Abdul-Jabbar appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated on October 27th, 1969 shortly after his NBA debut. The crux of this issue was Abdul-Jabbar’s article, simply titled “My Story”, that he co-wrote with Jack Olsen. Offered in this framed display is one of Sports Illustrated’s issues from October 27th, 1969 signed by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as “Lew Alcindor”. Framed below this signed magazine article is an etched plaque with the beginning of the article and an etched portrait of Abdul-Jabbar from the waist up. This item is framed to the dimensions of 22 x 30 inches. This item derives directly from Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and a personally hand-signed LOA from Kareem will accompany this item.
