Presented here is a typed letter from National Baseball Hall of Fame president Paul Kerr, which includes Hornsby’s handwritten response at the bottom of the letter. Kerr had invited Hornsby and his family to the 1962 Hall of Fame festivities and signed the letter in blue pen. Hornsby wrote “Dear Paul / Thanks for this letter. I am sorry we wont be able to attend game. I hope sometime in future / Sincerely Rogers Hornsby”. This response has been written in blue pen, and the letter has been encapsulated by PSA/DNA (84104106), who have graded Hornsby’s signature a fantastic MINT 9.
