Offered is an Official American League William Harridge baseball signed by 16 players during Connie Mack Day at Yankee Stadium in New York on August 21st, 1949. Hall of Famers Jimmie Foxx and Lefty Grove signed their names across the sweet spot. Foxx’s signature was signed in red ink with Grove’s in blue. Hall of Famers Mickey Cochraine and Frank Baker signed their names in blue ink on the north panel, which also has the signatures of Mark Koenig (black ink) and Bing Miller (blue ink). Hall of Famer Lefty Gomez signed his name in red ink on the east panel, along with the signatures of Wally Pip, Jack Barry and Max Bishop. The south panel has the signatures of Joe Dugan, Mike Haas, Ben Chapman and Bob Meusel, all signed in blue. This ball displays toning due to age and has been coated in shellac to preserve the stampings and signatures. “CONNIE MACK DAY NEW YORK” and “AUGUST 21st 1949” has been hand written in bold black pen along the stitching of the stamped sweet spot.
