Offered here is a stunning Cy Young cigar tin originating from the earliest days of the 20th century. Young, the winningest pitcher of all-time, accumulated 511 Major League victories between 1890 and 1911, making the Ohio native one of the most popular and well-respected men in America at the time. This cigar tin plays off Young’s wild popularity, depicting the cyclonic hurler in a portrait on either side of this cylindrical 5.5-inch high tin. The tin measures 5.25 inches in diameter, and bears a statement proffering a “Mild Havana Blend” of cigar. This piece exhibits a slight amount of weathering due to age, but remains in beautiful condition. This tin is an incredible rarity, and a fantastic relic from the early era of tobacco advertising in baseball.
