Chicago Cubs first baseman Mark Grace wore this blue Cubs batting helmet during his first several years in the Majors, circa 1988-92. Grace, a 24th round pick in the 1985 MLB June Amateur Draft, hit .299 from 1988-92, with a high of .314 in 1989. Grace played 16 seasons in the Majors, the first 13 for the Cubs and the final three in the desert with the Arizona Diamondbacks. Grace finished his career with a .303 batting average, 511 doubles, and three All-Star selections.
This helmet is blue, with a flap over the right ear. A sewn Cubs logo is adhered to the front of this helmet, while Grace’s number “17” and an American Baseball Company logo are applied to the back of the helmet. This helmet is approximately a size 7, and all of the interior padding is intact. This helmet shows excellent use and is accompanied by a LOA from JT Sports.
