Hall of Fame center Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was presented with this plaque in honor of his selection to the 1977 NBA All-Star Game at the MECCA Arena in Milwaukee, Abdul-Jabbar’s former home court. Kareem, the 1976-77 NBA MVP, averaged 26.2 points, 13.3 rebounds, and 3.9 assists, and 3.2 blocks per game that season. This plaque measures 9.5 x 7.5 inches. Etched in high relief on its face is “Presented to / Kareem Abdul-Jabbar / In Recognition Of Being Selected For / The NBA All-Star Team / NBA All-Star Game / February 13, 1977 / Milwaukee, Wisc.” and “John Alar / President, American Chicle”, the presenter of this award to Abdul-Jabbar.
