Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was presented with this Catholic High School Athletic Association first place trophy in 1963. Abdul-Jabbar, then known as Lew Alcindor, starred at Power Memorial Academy during the early 1960’s before advancing to a spectacular career in the collegiate and professional ranks. Abdul-Jabbar became the NBA’s all-time leading scorer in 1984, passing the great Wilt Chamberlain, and he was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1995.

This offered trophy measures 18 inches tall and is topped by a gold statuette of a basketball player. A removeable plaque on the base reads “C.H.S.A.A. 1st ‘63”. The base of this trophy measures 4 x 4 inches. It is accompanied by a LOA signed by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
