Hall of Fame center Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was presented with this key to the City of Los Angeles in 1989 by Mayor Tom Bradley. Abdul-Jabbar, a New York native, played in Los Angeles for the UCLA Bruins from 1966-1969 and again from 1975-1989 with the Lakers. This key is presented in its original presentation box, adorned with the Seal of the City of Los Angeles. The key is mounted to a 3.5 x 9.75-inch plaque and it measures 7.75 inches long. “Greetings from Los Angeles / TOM BRADLEY, MAYOR” is etched on the key, while a plaque below the key is etched with “’Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’ / The ‘Cap’ / The Los Angeles Lakers / Superstar of Sports, 1989”. This item derives directly from Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and a personally hand-signed LOA from Kareem will accompany this item.
