Hall of Famer Casey Stengel led the New York Yankees to seven World Series titles in 12 years and saw only two seasons in the Bronx without a World Series appearance. Later, Stengel was coaxed out of retirement to be the first manager of the New York Mets, and to this day is the only man with his number retired by both existing New York teams. Presented here is a baseball that has been signed by Casey Stengel on the sweet spot in a blue steel-tip fountain pen. Stengel inscribed “Mgr.” and “NY Yankees=1949”. The signature and inscription are lite, but still readable and this ball displays toning. There also appears to be a coating of shellac. This baseball comes with a LOA from JSA (Z73081).
