The Beatles 1965 Shea Stadium concert was perhaps the most electrifying event of its time and ushered in the British Invasion of rock and roll music. The Beatles had a significant effect on rock and roll music within the United States, and what was the beginning of the British Invasion which witnessed other bands such as The Rolling Stones, The Who (who also played Shea Stadium) hopping the pond for the fame and fortune of the United States.
Offered here is an original full ticket from the August 23rd Shea Stadium performance of The Fab Four that has been mounted in a 12 x 16-inch display. The face-value of this ticket was $5.00 and it was for Section 18, row V, seat 8. The ticket reads “SHEA STADIUM FLUSHING, N.Y. SID BERNSTEIN, Presents “THE BEATLES”” and has an image of all four members (from left to right Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr). Also included in this display is 6 ¼ x 8 ¾ -inch advertisement for the Shea Stadium show. The top part of the ad is in yellow with black print that reads “SID BERNSTEIN PRESENTS THE BEATLES PLUS ALL STAR SHOW”, with a picture of all four members. The last item included in this frame display is a Certificate of Authenticity signed by Sid Bernstein.
