Presented here is a framed display containing four signed letters congratulating Kareem Abdul-Jabbar on breaking Wilt Chamberlain’s record as the NBA all-time leading scorer. Abdul-Jabbar set the new record on April 4th, 1984, when he scored 22 points against the Utah Jazz in a Los Angeles victory at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas. His record-breaking points came on a shot over Jazz center Mark Eaton, who at 7’4” was one of the few men able to even challenge Kareem’s silky skyhook.

This framed display contains letters signed by California governor George Deukmejian, Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley, David Stern, and Larry O’Brien. Deukmejian has signed his letter in black marker, while Bradley and O’Brien have signed in blue pen. Commissioner Stern has signed his name in black pen as “David J. Stern”. These letters are displayed in a 24 x 28-inch frame. This item derives directly from Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and a personally hand-signed LOA from Kareem will accompany this item.
