The Hall of Fame center Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was presented with this National Basketball Retired Players Association Community Service Award. Abdul-Jabbar, a noted humanitarian, student, and educator, is the founder of the Skyhook Foundation and its sister program, Camp Skyhook, which endeavor to provide educational opportunities to underserved children through science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. This offered award is constructed of a transparent obelisk topped by a basketball. A NBPA logo is printed on the award, as well as “Kareem Abdul-Jabbar / Community Service Award”. This award measures 8 inches tall and comes in a black Prism box. It is accompanied by a LOA signed by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
