Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was presented with this City of Los Angeles proclamation of Los Angeles Lakers Day in Los Angeles to commemorate Kareem and company’s defeat of the Detroit Pistons in the 1988 NBA Finals. James Worthy was named the Finals MVP in 1988, with the Laker captain Abdul-Jabbar contributing 13.1 points per game in the Lakers seven-game victory over Detroit. This proclamation has been signed by Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley and 15 other members of the Los Angeles City Government. The proclamation is ornately designed and unframed. It measures 12.5 x 22 inches and comes with a LOA signed by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
