Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre wore this University of Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles road jersey during the late 1980s. Favre began his career as the seventh string quarterback on the Southern Miss depth chart before taking over the starters job during the second half of Southern Miss’ game against Tulane in mid-September. “The Gunslinger’s” most famous moment at Southern Miss came during the 1989 season, when Favre led the team on a seismic upset of the #6 Florida State Seminoles, with Favre’s game-winning touchdown pass with 23 ticks left on the clock becoming one of the most famous plays in Southern Miss history. Favre passed for 7,695 yards during his four seasons at Southern Miss, adding 52 touchdown tosses before graduating after the 1990 NCAA Football season.
This white mesh road jersey has Favre’s number “4” screen-printed on the chest, back, and shoulders in black and gold numerals. A Russell Athletic logo patch is sewn on the left sleeve, and a Russell Athletic size “46” tag is attached to the back inside collar. Favre has signed the “4” on the back of the jersey in silver marker. This jersey comes with a LOA from Favre, as well as a LOA from JSA (Z33201) for the signature.
