No team in history has had the succession of all-star quality backstops as the New York Yankees. Going back to Bill Dickey in the late 1920’s through Joe Girardi of the early 2000’s, each Yankees dynasty depended on a first-rate catcher. The 1949 through 1964 dynasty teams depended on Larry “Yogi” Berra. His leadership both behind the plate and in the clubhouse helped the New Yorkers win nine World Championships.

Offered here is a Yogi Berra professional model pro-stock bat that was ordered by teams and kept on-hand for their players to use if they desired a new model or weight. Pro-stock bats were usually the exact signature model used by a star player of the day, and in 1959 and 1960 – the years this bat dates to – there wasn’t any bigger star catcher than Yogi Berra. The bat shows moderate use with a handle crack. There appears to have been a player number or other notations removed from the knob. The barrel has several ball marks and abrasions and the Hall of Famer has signed the barrel in black marker. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B13737) for the game use and an LOA from PSA/DNA for the signature.
