“Iron” Mike Tyson wore these black high-top shoes while training for his 1988 fight against Tony Tubbs. Tyson was 34-0 at the time, and the holder of the WBA, WBC, and IBF heavyweight title belts. The fight against Tubbs took place on March 21st, 1988 at the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan. Tyson eased to victory in the Tubbs bout, winning by TKO in the second round to improve his record to an impeccable 35-0.

These shoes are black high-top boxing boots with black laces. Black chevrons are sewn on each heel. The offered boxing boots display heavy wear consistent with Tyson’s legendary training regimen. The soles of the shoes are brown, with wear concentrated near the toes and balls of the feet. These boots come with a Letter of Provenance from Tyson’s assistant manager at the time.
