The Hall of Fame centerfielder Mickey Mantle has signed and inscribed this Official American League Lee MacPhail baseball. Mantle, a 20-time All-Star, won seven World Series titles with the New York Yankees, his only major league team. The Oklahoma native was a three-time American League MVP, and in 1974 Mantle was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame on his first ballot. Mantle has signed the panel south of the sweet spot in blue marker. He inscribed “To Jimmy Fund” above his signature. The Jimmy Fund is a charity that raises money for cancer research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston and has been in partnership with the Boston Red Sox since 1953. Mantle’s signature has been graded a spectacular MINT 9 by PSA/DNA, with the baseball receiving a grade of NM-MT 8 for an overall grade of NM-MT+ 8.5. This baseball is accompanied by a LOA from PSA/DNA (AA05194).
