Offered here is a pair of cufflinks originating from the first fight between the legendary heavyweights Rocky Marciano and Ezzard Charles in June of 1954. Marciano, the undefeated champion, was almost matched by Charles, who became the first fighter to ever force Marciano to go the distance. The fight ended after 15 rounds, with Marciano declared the victor by way of unanimous decision, a result that pushed his career record to 46-0. This fight, which took place at Yankee Stadium, would be repeated in September, with Marciano winning again, this time by an eighth round KO.
These offered cufflinks feature a raised boxing glove on each cufflink. The reverse side of each cufflink is etched with “Jim Norris / Marciano Charles / June, 1954”. These cufflinks are in good condition, and they come in the original snakeskin-textured presentation box. Inside the box “Compliments of Jim Norris and Marciano - - Charles” is printed in red text. These cufflinks are a terrific memento from one of boxing’s greatest careers.
