After a lackluster mark of 11-10 to start the 2005-2006 season, Pat Riley took over as head coach of the Miami Heat. Under Riley, Miami ended the season on a 41-20 run, winning the Southeast Division. Dwyane Wade averaged 27.2 points per game, while adding 5.7 rebounds and 6.7 assists. Shaquille O’Neal posted averages of 20.0 points, 9.2 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per contest. After defeating the Chicago Bulls, New Jersey Nets and Detroit Pistons to win the East, the Heat won the NBA championship over the Dallas Mavericks.

Presented here is a 2006 Miami Heat NBA championship prototype ring, manufactured by Jostens. This base metal ring contains no center logo or stones. “WORLD CHAMPIONS” appears around the outside perimeter. One side is centered by the image of an arena, which is directly below “15 STRONG”. The name “RILEY” appears at the top while “FAITH” and the year 2006 are displayed at the bottom. A Miami Heat logo, with a colored basketball, is shown on the opposite side, with “MIAMI HEAT” above and “FAMILY” below. This item weighs approximately 115.9 grams and is an approximate size 12 ½.
