After watching the Philadelphia A’s win the last three AL titles, the 1932 Yankees destroyed the American League in 1932, taking home the pennant by a whopping 13 games! The Yankees went on to sweep the Chicago Cubs in that year’s World Series, highlighted by the Bambino’s “Called Shot.” This creamy-toned “Babe Ruth Home Run Special” baseball is signed by 21 members of that World Series Championship club.

This offered Official American League William Harridge stamped baseball has it all. First, the ball is in good condition, displaying only toning from age, but has clear stampings. Second, it has been signed by 21 members of that historic team, including its two big stars – Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. Ruth signed his name across the sweet spot, while Gehrig signed his name on the panel below. According to the letter of provenance that accompanies this item, this ball was signed during one of the Yankees’ visits to Fenway Park in Boston. This ball is packed with Hall of Famers as in addition to Ruth and Gehrig, there are signatures from Lefty Gomez, Red Ruffing, Bill Dickey, Earle Combs, Joe Sewell, Tony Lazzeri and Herb Pennock. Other signatures include Sam Boyd, Doc Farrell (signed “Eddie Farrell), Joe Glenn, Art Jorgens, Cy Perkins and others. To protect the signatures a coating of shellac is on the ball. A tremendous piece of history from one of the Yankees’ greatest teams and comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (I04621). There is also a detailed letter of provenance from Josephine A. Daniger from April 1, 1999 chronicling how the ball was obtained in Boston in 1932.
