The Hall of Fame centerfielder Ty Cobb has signed this newspaper photograph in his familiar green pen. Cobb, a standout for the Detroit Tigers, holds the highest career batting average in MLB history at .366. The Georgia native collected over 4,000 hits during his 24 season career, winning 12 batting titles and the 1909 American League Triple Crown Award. Cobb hit over .400 three times and was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1936 as a member of its inaugural class.
