New York Yankees soon-to-be Hall of Famer Derek Jeter wore this Rawlings PRO-DJ2 model glove circa 2001-02. Jeter was at the height of his powers in the early days of the new millennium, leading the Yankees to back-to-back World Series appearances in 2000 and 2001, winning it in 2000. Jeter was an All-Star in both 2001 and 2002, contributing 21 homers, 74 RBI, a .311 batting average, and 27 stolen bases to the Yankees pennant-winning 2001 season. Jeter was just as deadly at the top of the order for New York in 2002, slashing .297/18/75 with 32 stolen bases.

Jeter continued to star for the Yankees until 2014, when he retired as the franchise leader in hits (3,465), doubles (544), stolen bases (358), and more. Jeter retired with a full trophy cabinet, having won five World Series titles, five Silver Sluggers, five Gold Glove awards, and the 2000 World Series MVP trophy. In 2017, the Yankees retired Jeter’s number “2”, placing him, deservedly, in the same echelon as Yankee stars Lou Gehrig and Babe Ruth.

This offered Rawlings glove is black with brown laces and welting and dates to Jeter’s 2001 and 2002 seasons.  The glove has a basket webbing, with “PRODJ2” and “For The Professional Player” printed on the pinkie finger. A Rawlings tag is sewn on the wrist, while a second Rawlings logo is located on the outside of the thumb. A “The Gold Glove Co.” tag is sewn on the outside of the pinkie finger. A Derek Jeter “Turn 2” logo is printed on the inside of the palm. “Derek Jeter” is embroidered on the thumb in white. This glove comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1G00520).
