Baseball legend W.S. Peters has signed this typed letter on Chicago Union Giants letterhead. Peters played for the Union Giants, one of the oldest black baseball clubs in America, from 1887 to 1900 and managed the team from 1906 to 1917. This typed letter details a trip to southern Illinois the Giants intended to leave for on June 17th, 1915. Included on this letter is a photograph of Peters’ son, Frank, a player for the Giants. This letter comes with a LOA from JSA.
