The Hall of Fame second baseman Napoleon Lajoie has signed this index card. Lajoie, a career .388 hitter, was one of the star attractions in baseball during the early days of the 20th century. Lajoie has the highest single-season batting average of the 20th century thanks to his .426 average for the Philadelphia Athletics in 1901. Lajoie, who retired in 1916, was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1937 as a member of the Hall’s second class. Lajoie has signed this offered cut in black pen, inscribing “1-25-38” below his signature. This cut is displayed below a photograph of Lajoie in a 17.25 x 23.25-inch frame. This item comes with a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (A69273).
