Willie Stargell began his 21-year career with the Pittsburgh Pirates, signing as an amateur free agent in 1958. Called to the parent club in 1962, Stargell anchored the 1971 and 1979 World Series Champion teams. Along the way, “Pops” led the National League in home runs twice, earned the NL MVP in 1979, and played on seven All-Star teams. Inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1988, he passed away in 2001.
This offered Louisville Slugger K44 model bat was used by Stargell during the 1982 season. This bat displays outstanding game use and is un-cracked. There are ball marks, stitch impressions, bat rack streaks and cleat imprints present on the barrel. A terrific late-career Willie Stargell gamer and it comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B13938) for the game use and has been graded a solid GU 8.
