United States hockey star Craig Patrick was presented with this clock after Team USA won the gold medal at the 1980 Lake Placid Winter Olympics. Patrick played eight seasons in the NHL and served as Herb Brooks’ assistant coach and the assistant general manager for the “Miracle On Ice” team of 1980. The US team shocked the world by defeating the inexorable USSR hockey team in the Olympic semifinals before sweeping aside a strong Finland team in the gold medal game.
This offered pendulum clock features a face with a 7-inch diameter displayed inside an 18 x 9.5-inch wooden frame. The face of the clock is gold, with the numbers displayed in Roman numerals. A pendulum hangs from the clock face, with the bottom of the pendulum etched with “United States Olympic Hockey Team Gold Medal Winner” around a Lake Placid logo. Please note that the clock is not currently running. This clock is a fantastic relic from one of the most important sporting events of the 20th century.
