New York Giants defensive tackle Barry Cofield wore this blue Giants helmet during the 2008 NFC Championship Game against the Green Bay Packers. Cofield, a stout run-stuffer out of Northwestern, was instrumental in leading the 10-6 Giants to the Super Bowl title at the end of the 2007 NFL season. The Giants defensive line of Michael Strahan, Justin Tuck, Osi Umenyiora, and Cofield finished in the NFL’s top 10 in rushing yards allowed and the team recorded 53 sacks during the 2007 season. Cofield and the rest of the Giants defense held the Packers to 28 team rushing yards in the 2008 NFC Championship Game, a 23-20 Giants overtime win during the sub-zero temperatures at Lambeau Field.

This blue Giants helmet has a gray facemask, with Giants “NY” logo decals applied to each side of the helmet. The “NY” on the right side of the helmet is partially chipped off, likely due to the frigid temperatures at Lambeau Field in late January. Cofield’s number “96” is applied to the front and back of the helmet. The “6” digit on the front of the helmet is also chipped. A raised “RIDDELL” wordmark is applied to the forehead bumper. A NFL logo, an American flag, and a Sean Taylor memorial decal are applied to the back of the helmet. This helmet is a size “XL”. A number “96” sticker is applied to the inside of the helmet. Padding near Cofield’s ears has been replaced with cotton to protect against the ferocious cold of Lambeau. This helmet has been photo matched by Resolution Photomatching (425637) to the January 20th, 2008 NFC Championship game and a corresponding LOA will accompany this helmet.
