New York Mets captain and third baseman David Wright wore this blue Mets home alternate jersey during the Mets 4-3 victory over the Chicago Cubs on June 16th, 2013. The Mets scored all four of their runs in the bottom of the ninth, with a three-run homer from Kirk Nieuwenhuis off Carlos Marmol sending the Mets home winners. Wright finished this game 1-4 with a first inning double off Cubs starter Matt Garza. Wright was an All-Star in 2013, hitting .307 with 18 homers, 58 RBI, and 17 stolen bases in 112 games.
This blue button-down jersey has “Mets” and Wright’s iconic number “5” sewn on the chest in orange and white tackle twill. “WRIGHT” and a second “5” are sewn on the back of the jersey in orange and white tackle twill. Orange piping accents the jersey, and a 2013 All-Star Game patch is sewn on the left sleeve. A blue ribbon patch for prostate cancer awareness is sewn on the chest.
