New York Mets third baseman David Wright wore this white “Los Mets” alternate jersey during the Mets 5-2 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on August 24th, 2007 at Shea Stadium. Wright powered the Mets offense, knocking Jose Reyes home on a third inning single before launching a solo blast off Dodgers starter Brad Penny in the fifth inning. Wright finished the game 2-3 with two RBI, a run scored, and a walk. Wright’s longball was his 23rd of the season and the 90th of his career. The New York captain was an All-Star in 2007, finishing the year with a career-high .325 batting average and 107 RBI. Wright also joined the 30/30 club thanks to his 30 round trippers and 34 stolen bases.

This jersey has “Los Mets” sewn on the chest in blue, orange, and black tackle twill. Wright’s number “5” is sewn on the chest and back in the same fashion, with “WRIGHT” sewn across the back shoulders in blue, orange, and black tackle twill. Blue piping accents the jersey, and a circular Mets skyline logo patch is sewn on the left sleeve. A Majestic tag with attached “+1 Body”, “Set 2 2007”, and size “48” flags is sewn on the front inside tail. A large dirt stain is present on the left chest of this jersey. Wright has signed the right chest in blue marker, inscribing “Game Used HR #23 8/24/07” below his signature. Additionally, Wright has signed the “5” digit on the back of the jersey in silver marker, inscribing “Game Used 8/24/07” and “HR #23” below the second signature. This jersey comes with a LOA from Mets-Steiner Collectibles and a MLB Authenticated hologram (BB 608524).
