New York Mets third baseman David Wright wore these black Nike cleats during the 2006 All-Star Game at PNC Park in Pittsburgh. Wright, who finished second in the Home Run Derby that weekend, hit a solo home run during the All-Star Game to knot the score at 1-1. Unfortunately for Wright, the American League ended the Midsummers Classic 3-2 victors thanks to Michael Young’s two-RBI triple in the eighth. Wright made seven All-Star Games in his career, however his home run during the 2006 contest was the only All-Star homer of his career.
These high-top Nike cleats are a size 11.5, with a strap that reads “2006 All Star Game” located over the tongue. A white Nike swoosh logo is present on the outside of each shoe, and a Nike Huarache logo is present on each heel. Nine metal spikes are present on each sole. Wright’s number “5” has been written on each heel in black marker. Wright has signed each shoe in silver marker, inscribing “2006 All Star Home Run” and “Game Used” on each shoe. These cleats come with a LOA from David Wright.
