Wickey, born in Ohio in 1892, began his career as a painter and lithographer before working with volatile acids sapped his eyesight and brought along Wickey’s career as a sculptor. This statue shows a left-handed batter dressed in a button-down baseball uniform. The statue measures approximately 19 inches high and stands on a 7.75 x 4.5-inch pedestal. Wickey’s signature is etched on the top of the base. This statue is in excellent condition and is a perfect display piece for the astute collector.
