Presented in this lot is a collection of three baseballs individually signed by Mickey Mantle, Randy Gumpert, and Jim Lonborg. The ball signed by Mantle is an Official American League Bobby Brown baseball. The Hall of Fame centerfielder has signed the sweet spot of this ball in blue ballpoint pen. The ball signed by Gumpert is an Official American League Gene A. Budig baseball. Gumpert has signed the sweet spot in blue pen and inscribed “Mantle’s 1st ML HR 5-1-51” below his signature. The final ball, an Official American League Gene A. Budig sphere, has been signed on the sweet spot in black pen by Jim Lonborg. Lonborg has inscribed “Mantle’s Last HR #536 9-20-68” on the panel south of the sweet spot. The Mantle ball comes with a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (A79326), while the Gumpert and Lonborg balls each have a COA from Beckett Authentication Services (Gumpert: F58226, Lonborg: F58227).
