Offered in this lot are three game used bats from former Pittsburgh Pirates players. The first bat was used by Johnny Logan during the 1961-63 seasons. This Hillerich & Bradsby S188 model bat displays excellent game use and is un-cracked. There are ball marks and checking or grain swelling on the back barrel from repeated ball contact. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B12800). The second bat was made for Smokey Burgess for the 1959 All-Star Game. This Adirondack 282A model bat does not display any game use and is un-cracked. The model number “282A” is stamped on the knob and Burgess’ number “6” is hand written in black marker on the knob. “1959 ALL-STAR” is stamped on the barrel and small mounting hole is visible on the knob and top barrel. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B15182). The final bat in this lot was used by Bill Virdon during the 1960 season. Virdon’s Hillerich & Bradsby S216 model bat displays moderate game use and is un-cracked. There are ball marks, stitch impressions and slight checking or grain swelling from repeated ball contact on the barrel. The model number “S216” is stamped on the knob and this bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B12797).
