1998 was the season catcher Jorge Posada emerged as the successor to Joe Girardi. Under the Yankee veteran's mentorship, Posada hit just shy of .270 and was behind the plate during David Well's perfect game. Posada used this Rawlings 456B model bat during the 1998 season. This bat displays excellent game use and is un-cracked. There is checking or grain swelling from repeated ball contact on the barrel, along with ball marks, stitch impressions, blue ink transfers and white leather scuffs. Posada’s number “20” is hand written in black marker on the knob and the model number “456B” is stamped on the knob. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B13943) for the game use.
