The renowned thoroughbred jockey William Hartack was presented with this Caesars Legends of Racing trophy in 1988. Hartack was a five-time Kentucky Derby winner, a three-time Preakness Stakes winner, and the winner of the 1960 Belmont Stakes. Hartack was a national celebrity during his racing career, appearing on the covers of both Sports Illustrated and Time magazine. In 1959, while still an active jockey and only 26 years old, Hartack was inducted into the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame.
