Philadelphia 76ers All-Star center Joel Embiid wore this red Statement Edition Sixers jersey on March 8th, 2018, during the 76ers game against the Miami Heat at AmericanAirlines Arena. Embiid, the 76ers offensive cornerstone, scored 18 points in 28 minutes against the Heat as the Sixers fell by a score of 108-99. Embiid added seven rebounds and three assists against only one turnover as he continued his excellent play during his sophomore season in the Association. The Cameroonian big man was on fire from beyond the arc in this contest against the Heat, draining three three-pointers on six attempts from beyond the arc.
Embiid averaged 22.9 points and 11 rebounds per game during the 2017-18 season while earning All-Star, All-NBA Second Team, and All-NBA Defensive Second Team honors for the surprising 52-win Sixers. Philadelphia earned the third seed in the East at the end of the 2017-18 season, where they matched up against the Heat in a first-round playoff series. Thanks to the stellar play of Embiid and his fellow first-round pick Ben Simmons, the Sixers enacted a measure of revenge by handily defeating the Heat in five quick games.
This red Statement Edition jersey has “Sixers” sewn across the chest in white and blue tackle twill. Embiid’s number “21” is sewn on the chest and back in white tackle twill with a blue border. “EMBIID” is sewn across the back shoulders in white tackle twill. A NBA logo is applied to the upper back of the jersey, while a three-time NBA champions tag is sewn on the back outside collar. A Nike swoosh and a StubHub patch are sewn on the chest. The sides of the jersey are blue and white, with three white tackle twill stars sewn on the left side and four white tackle twill stars sewn on the right side. A black microphone pouch is sewn on the inside of the left side of the jersey. A Nike size “52” tag and a NBA Authentics tag are sewn on the front left tail. A “Length +6” flag is attached to the Nike tag. “Brotherly Love” is embroidered in gold above the Nike tag. This jersey comes with a LOA from the MeiGray Group (PHIE01284), stating that it was one of two jerseys worn by Embiid during the March 8th contest.
