Guided by legendary manager Billy Martin, the New York Yankees won 97 games during the 1976 season, claiming the AL East title. Thurman Munson was the team leader and he put up a big season, hitting .302 with 105 runs batted in. Graig Nettles hit 32 home runs, Mickey Rivers batted .312 with 43 stolen bases, and Roy White scored 104 runs. On the mound, Ed Figueroa won 19 games with a 3.02 ERA. Catfish Hunter and Dock Ellis each added 17 wins. New York defeated the Kansas City Royals 3-2 to win the American League Championship Series before falling to the Cincinnati Reds in the World Series.

Presented here is Figueroa’s Balfour 10K gold 1976 New York Yankees American League championship player’s ring, featuring the team’s “NY” logo, compromised of 19 diamonds, set on a large dark blue stone. “YANKEES AMERICAN LEAGUE CHAMPIONS” appears around the bezel setting in relief work. One side shows the year “1976” above an image of the team’s stadium, with the word “TRADITION” at the bottom. A Yankees team logo centers the opposite side with “FIGUEROA” in a banner at the top and the word “PRIDE” down below. “BALFOUR 10K” is marked inside the band of this approximate size 11 ring. This item weighs approximately 30.5 grams and comes with a LOA from Ed Figueroa.
