2019 Winter Auction Closing March 2

Presented here is a Type I photograph of Babe Ruth hitting the gym before the 1933 MLB season. Ruth, perhaps intent to prove he didn’t hit his 714 career bombs solely on hot dogs and beer, is pictured doing resistance training in a crew neck sweatshirt with a broad smile on his face. The extra hours in the gym paid off for the then-38-year-old Ruth, as he put up a Triple Crown slash line of .301/34/104 and earned a spot on the very first American League All-Star team. This 7 x 9-inch photograph was issued by Acme Newspictures and features a caption affixed to the back of the photograph. This photograph has been authenticated as a Type I by PSA/DNA (1P10472).
