After falling two games short of reaching the World Series the previous season, the New York Mets made it their mission to get to the Fall Classic in 2000. Mike Piazza was the undeniable team leader and he put up a big season, hitting .324 with 38 home runs and 113 RBIs. If Piazza was the star of the show, Edgardo Alfonzo made for a wonderful sidekick, batting .324 to go along with 25 HRs, 94 RBIs and a team-high 109 runs. Each starter in New York’s rotation won at least 11 games, led by Al Leiter (16 wins) and Mike Hampton (15 victories). Armando Benitez recorded 41 saves and a 2.61 ERA. Sure enough, the Mets did indeed reach the World Series in 2000, before falling to the New York Yankees in a five-game “Subway Series”.

Presented here is a Jostens 10K gold 2000 New York Mets National League championship ring, featuring a CZ-studded Mets “NY” logo set on a large dark colored stone. “2000 NATIONAL LEAGUE CHAMPIONS” reads in relief work - between additional CZs - around the bezel setting. One side of the ring boasts pennants - bearing the years in which the Mets won the NLCS - flying around the N.L. league logo. An image for the Subway Series appears at the bottom. The name “NATERA” appears at the top of the opposite side, above “AMAZIN’ AGAIN” and the city skyline. “METS STAFF” is shown below. “Luis Natera” is engraved inside the band along with the manufacturer and 10K marks. This item is an approximate size 11 and weighs approximately 34.6 grams. This ring comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (AF09764).
