Hall of Fame center Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was presented with this John R. Wooden Classic High School Invitational Community Service award in 1997. Abdul-Jabbar played three seasons for Wooden at UCLA, winning three national titles for the Wizard of Westwood. This award measures 12 x 9 inches. A plaque on the award reads “John R. Wooden Classic High School Invitational / December 4, 1997 / California Interscholastic Federation – Southern Section / Community Service Award / Presented to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar / In recognition of your exemplary community service and support of interscholastic athletics.” Additionally, a 10 x 5.5-inch plaque of the Arrowhead Pond court is affixed to this award. This item derives directly from Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and a personally hand-signed LOA from Kareem will accompany this item.
