Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was a star among stars in the NBA. He won six championship titles, made 19 All-Star teams, was named league Most Valuable Player an amazing six times, and finished with 38,387 career points, the most in history. In college, he simply was the best player in the country, winning three consecutive national championships while averaging 26.4 points and 15.5 rebounds per game for his career at UCLA. For as dominant as those pro and college careers were, it all started in high school, while at Power Memorial in New York. Over a three-year span, while playing then as Lew Alcindor, Abdul-Jabbar led Power Memorial High School to a 95-6 record, winning three straight city titles along the way. He would finish his high school career with over 2,000 points and 2,000 rebounds.

Offered here is a very rare item – a 1965 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (Lew Alcindor) Power Memorial Academy class ring. The ring features a beautiful light purple color stone in the center, with “POWER MEMORIAL 1965” appearing around the stone. The shanks are intricately adorned, with one side displaying “PMH” and the other side showing a school crest that reads “POWER MEMORIAL ACADEMY 1931”. Inside the band are the letters “FLA” (Abdul-Jabbar was born Ferdinand Lewis Alcindor, Jr.) as well as 10K and manufacturer marks.  This ring is an approximate size 11 and weighs approximately 13.1 grams. The item comes directly from Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and a personally hand-signed LOA from Kareem also accompanies this item.
