Encapsulated and assessed "Authentic" by SGC, one of just two examples validated by any of the hobby's recognized grading companies. Hall of Famer. The Jones, Keyser & Arras issue was produced in the "cabinet" style of the late 19th Century. The rare relic from the series, here offered, consists of an approximately 3-3/8" x 5-1/2" black-and-white photograph. (As issued, the piece was attached to a cabinet-type, thick cardboard mount that is now lost and which does not accompany.) One of the most desirable pieces in the very scarce production is this Walter Johnson depiction showing the legend's pitching follow-through. A copyright date, "1911," accompanies the 300-series number, "331," within the grass in the photo's foreground, along with a small symbol that could easily be interpreted as a "JKA" photographer's logo. The photo's back is blank. This compelling Johnson likeness concedes surface discrepancies (primarily at the top edge) but remains highly visual. An almost never-seen, career-contemporary collectible of The Big Train!
