Encapsulated and assessed "Authentic" by SGC. Hall of Famer. This elite historical relic captures the true-to-life gaze of a legendary baseball pioneer. Harry Wright's importance to the sport cannot be overstated. He was referred to as "The Father of Baseball" by none other than Henry Chadwick. Wright was a star player, and he also managed the 1869 Red Stockings, baseball's first professional team. He went on to win multiple pennants in Boston and Providence, and then finished out his career in Philadelphia. Wright passed away in 1895 at 60 years of age, and he was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1953. This period tintype photograph boasts phenomenal resolution in its depiction, and stands as an incomparably vivid, period portrayal of a significant figure.
